Circular Barbell

Approximately three quarters of a circle. Can be used when a captive bead ring is suitable. Useful if the wearer changes jewelry often. Circular barbells are heavier than captive bead rings and may not be suitable for all new piercings. To prevent losing circular barbell balls, a captive bead can be inserted between the balls. Circular barbells are sometimes called Horseshoe Barbells, although some manufacturers do make Horseshoe Barbells that are U-shaped rather than circular.
